Requirements
Age: 21-35
US Citizen: Yes, or eq.
High School Grad/GED: Yes
Valid State Driver's License: Yes
Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes
Vision: Must meet NFPA/582
College: Not Required
Academy Certification: IL Basic Operations Firefighter
Necessary Certifications: IDPH or National Registry EMT- Basic, EMT-Intermediate, or EMT- Paramedic
Must have or have the ability to obtain IDPH EMT-Paramedic or currently enrolled in a paramedic program to be considered for immediate hire.Â
Additional Requirements:
Pass a Polygraph test
Pass a thorough background investigation
Pass a psychological examination
Pass a medical examination
Pass the written test
Valid CPAT and Ladder climb within one-year period before the application dateÂ
